In the lawsuit that took place in the Netherlands, Vestel Elektronik was awarded a compensation of 684.4 million euros.
This amount, equivalent to approximately 22.5 billion Turkish Lira, exceeds Vestel’s current market value of 22 billion lira. The conclusion of the lawsuit, which has a capital of 335.4 million lira and equity of 13.9 million lira, will provide Vestel Elektronik with a significant financial entry.
Initially, Vestel filed a lawsuit demanding a total compensation of 2.053 billion euros. However, the court ruled in favor of Vestel Elektronik, ordering the payment of only 684.4 million euros.
Although the amounts specified in the decision of the Dutch court have not yet been finalized, both parties have the right to appeal.
In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Vestel expressed its intention to appeal the decision and pursue the unpaid amount of approximately 1.4 billion euros.
Vestel Elektronik is the plaintiff in the case, with Samsung, LG group companies, Technicolor S.A., TTD International S.A.S, and TDP SP. Z.O.O. as defendants. In the competition law-related lawsuit, a partial acceptance and partial rejection decision was made, and two defendants were ordered to pay Vestel 684.4 million euros in compensation.
Vestel Elektronik emphasized that it will exercise its right to appeal the part of the decision that is against the company within the expected legal period.
This legal victory is expected to have a significant impact on Vestel Elektronik’s financial situation and pave the way for potential developments in the competitive environment.
