Ali Osman Kurt, the owner of a tea house in the Güneysınır district of Konya, confessed to intentionally running over and killing his colleague Yıldırım Uyan (42) with his car in a horrifying incident. The assailant then buried the victim’s body. The revelation came to light after Uyan’s family filed a missing person report.
The tragedy unfolded on January 17th, following a disagreement over a work matter between Ali Osman Kurt and his colleague Yıldırım Uyan. During the argument, Uyan injured Kurt by hitting him on the head with a blunt object. Both parties filed complaints against each other following this incident. On February 1st, Ali Osman Kurt intentionally hit Yıldırım Uyan, who was walking alongside the road, with his car. After the collision, Kurt mercilessly beat Uyan with an iron rod, tied his hands and feet, and transported him to a mountainous area in his vehicle. He then attempted to set Uyan on fire but failed. The final act involved burying the lifeless body.
Ali Uyan, Yıldırım Uyan’s father, became concerned about his son’s whereabouts and went to the police station on February 3rd, stating that they had not heard from him for two days. The police questioned those around Uyan and determined that he was last seen on Bozkır Street. The analysis of security camera footage revealed the horrifying incident where Ali Osman Kurt intentionally hit and attacked Uyan.
Initially denying involvement in the incident, Ali Osman Kurt later confessed during questioning, stating, “We had argued before due to work-related issues, and I was afraid that he would harm me and my family. On the day of the incident, I followed him with my car. I first hit him with the car. Then I beat him with an iron rod. I tied his hands and feet, put him in the car, and tried to set him on fire in a mountainous area, but I failed. Afterward, I buried him.”
Following Kurt’s guidance, authorities found the lifeless body of Yıldırım Uyan. After completing the police procedures, Ali Osman Kurt will face legal proceedings. Uyan’s funeral took place today at a local cemetery.
